The arid Trans-Himalayan desert of Ladakh and Zanskar, has a number of trails, many of which trance ancient trade routes to Central Asia. But Zanskar’s reputation as a Shangri-la also derives from the grandeur of its landscapes, the simplicity of life in its villages, and the serene ambience in its gompas, often built around ancient cliff-top meditation caves.
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
On arrival at Delhi international airport, meet, assist & transfer to hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 : Day 02: Delhi / Leh
Morning assistance on departure to Delhi domestic airport for connect flight to Leh. On arrival meet assist & transfer to hotel. PM free to acclimatize. Overnight at the hotel.
 
Day 03: Leh
AM visit the market place on foot & later the Leh Palace. Also visit the monastery complex of Namgyal Tsemo & the Maitreya temple. Walk past the Shanti stupa, Moravian church & the Sankar monastery. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Leh – Uletopko (140 Kms & 4 Hrs)
Morning drive to Uletopko camp. On arrival check in at the camp. Later visit the Alchi monastery & the village. Overnight at the camp.

Day 05: Uletopko – Lamayuru – Mulbekh (125 Kms & 5 Hrs)
Morning drive to Mulbekh. The view on the way to Lamayuru is the most spectacular view known as Moon Land. Visit the Lamayuru monastery. Continue drive to Gyal crossing the Fotula pass (4100 Mts) & the Namikala pass (3700 Mts). Visit the village of Gyal & the monastery there. Later drive to Mulbekh. On arrival, check in & overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Mulbekh – Shergol – Panikar (70 Kms & 6 Hrs)
Am visit the giant engraving of Maitreya. Later drive to Shergol in the Wakha river valley in Kargil district. Visit the cave monastery with beautiful paintings. Continue drive to Panikar in the Suru valley. On arrival check in & overnight at the hotel.
Day 07: Panikar – Rangdum (60 Kms & 4 Hrs)
Morning dirve to Rangdum. En-route photostop for beautiful views of the Himalayas & the Drang drung glacier, which is the origin of the Stod river. On arrival visit the Rangdum monastery. Check in & overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Rangdum – Tungri (95 Kms & 6 Hrs)
Morning drive to Tungri. Drive over the Pensila pass (4450 Mts) with a panoramic view of the Himalayas. On arrival, check in at the camp. Later visit the Tugri monastery. Overnight at the camp.
Day 09: Tungri
Morning excursion to Padum via Sani. Visit the monastery at Sani which is the oldest religious site in Western Himalayas. Also visit Pipiting which has a temple & chorten. Later visit Padum, which is the main village in Zanskar. Overnight at Tungri camp.
Day 10: Tungri
Morning excursion to Karsha. The site includes ancient rock engravings, and the murals in its Avalokitesvara temple. A colorful festival takes place between July & August (Check for dates). Overnight at Tungri

Day 11: Tungri – Rangdum Morning drive back to Rangdum on our way to Kargil. Check in & overnight at the hotel.

Day 12: Rangdum – Kargil (130 Kms & 6 Hrs)
Morning drive to Kargil. On arrival, check in at the hotel. View the apricot orchards when in bloom in July. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13: Kargil – Basgo – Leh (220 Kms & 9 Hrs)Morning drive to Leh. En-route visit Basgo monatsry with its murals in its fort & temple, dedicated to Maitreya, the future Buddha. On arrival at Leh, check in & overnight at the hotel.

Day 14: Leh / Delhi
Morning departure transfer to domestic airport for connect flight to Delhi. On arrival, meet, assist & transfer to the city for last minute shopping for souvenirs. Later departure transfer to Internatuional airport for connect flight to home destination.
