| For devout Hindus, a trip into the Himalayan ranges of Uttaranchal – source of the sacred Ganges, is no mere journey, but a yatra, or spiritual pilgrimage. The “Blue throat peak” named after lord Shiva, towers over Badrinath. Every peak, river and trail is either named after a Hindu god or godess, or finds mention in the Holy Scriptures. |
